What to do this Weekend: 11/17 – 11/19

I’ll be doing grad school work all weekend (my life is clearly very exciting), but for the rest of you who can go out and live it up, here are a few suggestions…..

Catch Cirque du Soleil’s Coreto while you can. It’s at the Convention Center ’til November 26th. Wanna to grab a bite before the show? Located right across from the circus tent, Acadiana is chock full of delcious Southern specialties.

The bar tour of choice for the weekend is Chill on the Hill. The fun starts at 1 at the Dubliner, and you can check out the 11 participating bars until 9 p.m.

Oh, and if you like the Red Hot Chili Peppers, you might want to add “order concert tickets” to your to-do list. Tix go on sale Saturday, November 18th at 10 a.m. for the January 25th show at Verizon Center with RHCP. Yeaaaaaaah. I always liked Flea.

The Friday Dish: Best Hole-in-the-Wall Dining

As much as I like white linen napkins (take that with a hint of sarcasm) there’s just something cool about going to hole-in-the-wall restaurants. Of course, these aren’t the places that usually get profiled in Washingtonian, but what’s the fun of following the masses around to all the see-and-be-seen places, anyway? Branch out, try something new…and discover fabulous food in the process. The best part? Dinner for two won’t cost the equivalent of a shopping spree at Anthropologie.

The Italian Store – Arlington
Tastee Diner – Bethesda and Silver Spring
Matuba – Arlington and Bethesda
Ben’s Chili Bowl – U Street
Eamonn’s: A Dublin Chipper – Old Town Alexandria
Brickskeller – Dupont Circle (It’s technically a bar, but their pierogies and buffalo wings are to die for.)
